On second thought, these people might be super smart, not bizarre. Why? Because right now it is 80 degrees out with no sun (clearly, as it is the middle of the night) and if they wait until tomorrow to move stuff, they will be encountering 97 and sunny (also known as put me out of my misery now). I know which moving time I'd prefer. Hopefully they'll be our age and nice.

super banana bread

This recipe makes the best banana bread that I've ever had. It has a lot of bananas, so it tends to be a little on the heavy side, but the flavor is wonderful. To make it lighter, add a teaspoon of baking powder (I usually do).


INGREDIENTS:

• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup butter
  
• 3/4 cup brown sugar (I cut this to 1/2 c., adjust as you like)
  
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas (about 3 large bananas)
  
• (optional 1 tsp baking powder)
  

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, (baking powder if used) and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
3. Bake in preheated oven for 55 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.

condo watch 2006

The condo next door is still for sale, although the sign in the front yard has said "reserved" for about the past 6 weeks. I think it's been well over a year now.
